JOSE OSCAR FLORES
LINN, TX – Jose Oscar Flores, 62, went home to our Lord Monday, January 1, 2018, at Edinburg Regional Medical Center.
Oscar was born in Edinburg and spent his life in Linn, TX.
During and after high school he worked as a cowboy on the McAllen & Tijerina ranches. He spent the rest of his career working alongside his brothers for their oldest brother’s company, Chorizo de San Manuel. He married the love of his life, Bonnie Garza in 1975, and in 1979, Oscar & Bonnie were blessed with their daughter, Denise. Bonnie and Denise were his entire world and he spent his life providing for them, always putting them first before himself. He was known for his quick wit and humor, and he will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and long list of clients.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Luis and Teresa Flores; three brothers, Luis Flores Jr., Jesus Flores, Jorge Flores; and a sister, Sylvia Guerra.
Jose Oscar is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie Flores of Linn, TX; a daughter, Denise Flores of San Antonio; two siblings, Melba Coody of Kyle, TX and Romeo Flores of Linn, TX.
A memorial service was held from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, at Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg. Funeral service took place at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in San Manuel. Interment of cremated remains followed at Guadalupe El Torrero Cemetery in Puerto Rico, TX.
Funeral services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
