ESPERANZA G. LUNA
EDINBURG – Esperanza G. Luna, 80, died Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at her residence in Edinburg, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born in Edinburg, she had lived there all of her life and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mrs. Luna was formerly employed by E.C.I.S.D. for over 25 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gonzalo Luna; her parents, Venustiano and Sara Garcia; and four siblings, Ruben Garcia, Lydia Garcia, Gilberto Garcia Sr., Fidela Luna.
Mrs. Luna is survived by four children, Jorge (Estella) Luna of Rowlett, Elda (Joel) Rios of Edinburg, Jaime (Helen) Luna of Oak Cliff, TX, Ruben Luna of Edinburg; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, Anselmo Garcia; and four sisters, Consuelo Rios, Olivia G. Salinas, Concpecion Trevino, Olga Badillo, all of Edinburg. The family would like to give special thanks to Martha Gomez, for the care given to Esperanza.
Visitation was held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Friday, Dec. 15, at Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg. Funeral service took place at 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment followed at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
Funeral services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
