For people who’ve been watching the Hidalgo County’s judicial system often operate at a snail’s pace over the years, it’s been a pretty amazing thing to watch the relative rapid speed at which some recent alleged criminal cases have been moved through the process. The recent cases of PSJA ISD Coach Jose Perez and Donna ISD Superintendent Jesus Rene Reyna and Board Trustee Ernesto Lugo are three that come to mind. Rather than drag on for months and months, they were over and done with in relative quick fashion, all three cases no-billed by a grand jury.
