Most of the stories about JJ Avila probably can’t be told because no one would believe them. Like the time he cold-cocked the lawyer at the McAllen airport after the guy pushed him (dumb move, if you know JJ). He’s been larger than life since I’ve known him, with a quick temper, and a type A+ personality to go with it. Which may help explain why he had his first heart attack at the age of 45.
