HUMBERTO BALLI
PHARR – Humberto Balli, 88, went to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, February 22, 2018, at his residence in Pharr.
He was born on September 10, 1929 to Jose Maria and Margarita Balli in McAllen. Humberto was a PSJA High School graduate and attended college. He served in the United States Army from 1950 to 1952 and the National Guard from 1956 to 1959. He retired from the Texas Highway Department in December of 1986 with 30 years of service. He was an active member of La Trinidad United Methodist Church in Pharr for many years, serving in numerous committees.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Criselia “Lucy” Balli; his parents; his sister, Elva B. (†Arturo) Gonzalez; a niece, Elvita Balli; and a nephew, Tony Gonzalez.
Mr. Balli is survived by three children, David (Blanca) Balli, Aida (Joe) Galindo, both of San Antonio, Leticia (Ramiro) Cantu of McAllen; six grandchildren, Lanay and Rene Balli, Laura and Daniel Galindo, all of San Antonio, Brianna Balli of Austin, Roxanna Cantu of McAllen; one great-grandson, Roen Mesa of McAllen; a brother, Ruben (†Irene) Balli of Pharr; and two nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of Allstate Hospice, Dr. Hiram Tavarez, Dr. Tommy Yee, Dr. K.V. Chowdary, and his caregivers.
Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service took place at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26, at La Trinidad United Methodist Church in Pharr. Interment followed at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Military honors were conducted by VFW Post 7473 of Elsa.
Funeral services were under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
