County commissioner seats his own uncle on RMA board

Hidalgo County Precinct 1 Commissioner David Fuentes took some political heat and bashing on social media after nominating his own uncle, “Zeke” Reyna, last month for a seat on the board of the Hidalgo County Regional Mobility Authority (RMA), but he wouldn’t back down and stuck with his nomination. “He is still the best choice for that position,” Fuentes says, “because he’s the best guy out there in terms of looking out for the interests of Precinct 1.”
Traditionally, the RMA board is stacked with local heavy hitters in the world of business and finance. Today, its seven-member board includes David Deanda, Jr., Forrest Runnels, Ricardo Perez, David Guerra, Paul Moxley, Alonzo Cantu, and now, Reyna, who replaced Josue Reyes.
