Amelia R. Garza
EDINBURG - Amelia R. Garza, 85, died Friday, December 22, 2017, at Comfort House in McAllen.
Amelia was the “Rock” of the family. She was a strong, independent and determined woman. This strong woman learned to read and write even though she never went to school. She instilled education in all her children and believed that education was important for everyone to succeed. Her leadership skills and her strength were traits that were evident to all who met her. She always maintained an “I’ve got to do it” attitude. Amelia was compassionate and generous. She was quick to supply a place to stay or food to eat to anyone in need. Creativity and skill were a great part of her being as she was a talented seamstress, made flower arrangements, and used her beautiful singing voice to share her heart. She used her voice to praise God until the very end. She was a woman of great faith and devoted to praying The Divine Mercy and the Holy Rosary on behalf of her loved ones and all those in need of prayer.
Her wish was that her family would pardon her for any faults and she wanted them to know that she loved and would continue to pray for all of them.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Felix Garza Sr.; a son, David Garza; a grandson, Felix Garza III; and her parents, Santos and Cecilia Rodriguez.
Mrs. Garza is survived by 11 children, Felix (Adelina) Garza Jr. of Edinburg, Linda (Hernan) Moreno of Houston, Roberto (Raquel) Garza of Edinburg, Hector Garza of South Carolina, Jorge Garza of Louisiana, Alma R.
