Former Edcouch municipal judge racks up five-year fed sentence

KGBT-TV (ValleyCentral.com) broke a story recently about former Edcouch Municipal Judge Daniel Guzman II and his unfortunate run-in with the feds. Dave Hendricks wrote the story, dated Nov. 28, 2017.
It seems that Guzman II was arrested last February and charged with transporting cocaine from the RGV to Alabama. He subsequently pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of coke. With a five-to-40-year sentence hanging over his head, Guzman II escaped with the minimum: five years in the federal slammer, according to the ValleyCentral.com story.
