Border Patrol Agents quitting job faster than new ones can be hired

A story published last week by The LA Times carried this interesting fact: The U.S. Border Patrol is losing agents faster than new ones can be hired; followed by the training period. Thankfully, the transport of hard-core drugs (meth and heroin) and evidence of human smuggling by transnational criminal gangs isn’t a concern (insert sarcasm).
According to The Times’ story, two new reports from federal watchdog agencies state that Border Patrol agents are quitting the border beat faster than replacements can be hired, and that U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) faces “significant challenges” in hiring and training new personnel.
