Arrest and Arraignment of Home-Invasion Suspects
San Juan PD on the job
San Juan police announced this week that they have arrested four suspects tied to a home invasion that dates back to last April (the 24th).
It was then reported that an aggravated robbery/home invasion had occurred at 2003 Loma Azul Street, perpetrated, police were told, by several masked men dressed in black, carrying handguns.
According to an initial SJ PD press release, the investigation revealed that the suspects stole cash currency from the home in the amount of $20,000, along with jewelry, and narcotics.
A 21-year-old and a 7-year-old were inside the residence when the men broke in, according to San Juan Police Chief Juan Gonzalez.
No major injuries were reported.
The stolen jewelry was later recovered at two different pawn shops located in San Juan.
SJ PD investigators later identified six suspects involved in the aggravated robbery, four of whom have already confessed to the crime, according to Gonzalez.
Two suspects were already in custody pending charges related to other aggravated robberies that occurred in other cities.
Two of the six suspects are still at large and have outstanding warrants, said Gonzalez.
If these two wanted suspects are seen (see names below), San Juan Crime Stoppers is asking anyone with information as to their whereabouts call 956-283-8477. The tipster, who will remain anonymous, may receive up to $1,000 in cash if the arrests lead to a conviction.
The two remaining suspects are considered armed and dangerous.
San Juan Police Chief Gonzalez said that criminal investigators are conducting an ongoing investigation into whether or not the victim was in possession of illegal narcotics when the home invasion occurred; an allegation that the victim has denied.
