Another brave journalist shot to death

For Mexican journalists who continue to report on narco news south of the border, the risk of death by violence continues to rise.

Last week, unknown members of a Mexican drug cartel assassinated Mexican Reporter Candido Rios outside a store in the Mexican state of Veracruz despite the fact that he had been incorporated into a program meant to safeguard journalists – Protection of Human Rights Defenders and Journalists of the Ministry of the Interior – because he had received numerous death threats over the past several months.
