Jury selection for Patterson, alleged accomplice set for Aug. 30

According to a source close to the upcoming capital murder trial of Melissa Patterson -- former administrator of the Comfort House Hospice, former PSJA grad and Bearette, and member of PSJA’s politically powerful Palacios family – there will be approximately 300 people in the jury pool next Wednesday as the defense and prosecutorial sides work to choose 12 impartial jurors and two alternates.
Patterson and her alleged accomplice, Angel Mario Garza, who signed a written confession admitting to the murder prior to pleading not-guilty in court, stand accused of murdering 96-year-old McAllen resident Marty Knell inside his residence in January 2015.
