Drug dealer out of prison five years early?
McALLEN – A guy tied to the infamous Panama Unit drug conspiracy released from federal prison five years ahead of his official release date? What gives? No one knows because obviously the feds aren’t talking about why Fernando Guerra Jr was cut such a sweet deal earlier this month.
Former Hidalgo County Sheriff Commander Jose Padilla was released from federal prison in June of this year, approximately seven months shy of his 38-month sentence after pleading guilty in 2014 to one count of bribery. He’s been under a form of house arrest in the RGV since then, but is scheduled to be officially set free next month, according to federal documents.
