The Russian Connection

I remember hearing a number of years ago that Ruben Hinojosa and his brother supported different political parties so that, no matter who won an election, their meat business would prosper. It is a common practice, in fact, for wealthy businessmen to divide their giving to receive favorable treatment no matter which side might win. It seems odd to me, therefore, that the media are concentrating so heavily on a supposed Russian connection to the Trump campaign while ignoring entirely the possibility that Putin and Company were attempting to curry favor with the side that our intelligence sources indicate the Russians (and everybody else) thought would win. Comey announced last week that the FBI is conducting an investigation of the Trump campaign’s alleged contacts with Russians. Let’s hope he’s also investigating with the same fervor possible contacts between Hillary’s campaign and Putin’s associates.
