I love the way the Chinese designate each year by some animal embodying the essence of the year. What would this year be? I hesitate to name the animal, but the essence would be SURPRISE. First UK citizens voted to leave the EU. Then Donald Trump won the primaries. Then October rolled around and the Democrat machine trotted out not one but two carefully selected and stored surprises against Trump. The first October surprise was the bus video from yesteryear featuring the Donald's "locker room" comments. Then there was the parade of women making unsubstantiated claims. Those two surprises together were supposed to sink the Donald.
