Murder victim’s son says jurors were “courageous”

EDINBURG – To say that the past three years have taken a heavy toll on Mark Knell would probably be an apt description, considering the frustration he, his wife, and family have had to suffer as the trial of the woman accused of killing his dad has dragged on for an interminable amount of time: 25 months after her initial arrest Aug. 25, 2015.
The three-year mark began when his mom first entered the Comfort House in September 2014, no one knowing that the hospice’s chief administrator, Monica Melissa Patterson, was capable of theft, let alone murder.
