The Harlingen Cardinals used an explosive offensive attack, especially on the ground, to overcome the McAllen Memorial Mustangs 49-35 in a spectacular Class 6A Division I playoff shootout at Boggus Stadium in Harlingen Friday night. It was a high-scoring game from the start, with the Mustangs owning a 14-12 lead after one quarter. The Cardinals exploded in the second period to seize a 28-14 halftime advantage. The two offenses continued to dominate in the second half, with the Cardinals leading 35-20 at the end of the third quarter.
