Judge sentences lawyer’s son to six years for fatal car accident

Ciro Manuel Trevino is 28 years old. By the time he is released from state prison in 2023, he will be 34, free to resume normal life. The two victims lying in his wake, however, one dead, one with permanent brain trauma – the result of a fatal car wreck almost two years ago – won’t be as lucky.
Treviño, son of local, longtime attorney Gregorio Treviño, pleaded guilty Sept. 7 to two felony counts: “Racing on highway causing serious bodily injury; and racing on a highway causing death.” He was sentenced last Tuesday to six years in state prison with no chance of parole.
