Happy New Year to all of our supporters

Ed. note: Hard to believe another year has passed, and a new one has arrived. It seems like it was just yesterday that we were all talking about Y2K. Hard to believe that was 18 years ago.
With the start of a new year, it’s that time again where we like to take the time to thank those of you who support this weekly, community newspaper, which will turn 40 years old in only two short months. I know, it’s hard for me to believe either. How did 1978 segue into 2018 so quickly? March 1, 2018 is the official date. Take 40 years and multiply that by 52 weeks, and that gives us 2,080 issues of The Advance News Journal without having ever missed an issue. Makes me tired thinking about it. My parents, Gene and JoAnne Wendorf, started the paper and ran it for 15 years before my mother got sick, and they were forced to give up a business they loved. My wife, Jan, and I bought it in 1993, and have been fortunate, with your help, to carry on the name.
