Edinburg city councilman’s TRO stops inquiry into his business dealings

A temporary restraining order (TRO) filed two weeks ago by Edinburg Councilman Homer Jasso, Jr.’s attorney, David Flores, put a halt to a special meeting scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018, to discuss whether or not Jasso had violated the city charter in 2016, early 2017, when his business, Santa Anita Recycling L.L.C. did work for the city. The city was served with the TRO the same day that the special meeting was scheduled to commence at noon.
The city has 20 days from Feb. 15 to respond to the filing of the TRO.
According to Jasso’s TRO, the city was notified that the councilman had a scheduling conflict with the Feb. 15th date and asked that it be changed. Apparently, according to court filings, the city was prepared to go ahead with the Feb. 15th
