Edinburg CISD, Region One host Regional Braille Challenge

EDINBURG – Approximately a dozen students, who are blind or visually impaired, recently participated in the Regional Braille Challenge, which was hosted by the Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District and Region One at Gorena Elementary School in Edinburg.

“I think it’s great and very beneficial,” said Adriana Banos-Mendez, one of the contestants, who is a student at Edinburg High School. “Whether people know braille or not, it gives them the opportunity to learn it a little bit more and expand on their knowledge of braille.”
